Chapter Seven, Packing Days
The first time my family moved, my husband and I packed all of the boxes ourselves. I had to go to the grocery store at 6:00 every morning before work to retrieve boxes before they were broken down. I also brought home empty copy paper boxes from work every day. It was a huge undertaking. I didn't have any packing advice, and many of the items I packed were broken or crushed when I unpacked them. Since I had packed all of the boxes myself, I was not eligible to file a claim with the moving company. I was devastated!
Chapter Ten, Delivery day...and Unpacking
After the sixth move, I finally decided that my family definitely needed to add more fun to this process. On our move to Scottsdale, we checked into the Princess Resort the night before the moving van arrived at our new house. We relaxed, swam, and enjoyed a delicious dinner. We felt like we were on vacation, not in the middle of a hectic cross-country move. The next morning my family woke up refreshed and ready to greet the moving personnel at our new house. This situation is in stark contrast to the first time I moved and spent the night sleeping on the floor with my two babies at a relative's house. Dream up your own idea of relaxing and see if you can put more fun for the whole family into your move.
